Before you get into this, this is my personal opinion, if your a reader insert writer who dose this just remember my opinion doesn't matter, yours dose (unless your asking someone for an opinion).

When i look for a reader insert there are times when i find ones that say " " x reader but instead the reader has a name instead of y/n. This bothers me at time because this, to me, contradicts the title of the story. It's not so much a reader insert but just another fanfic, don't get me wrong, i know it must be hard to post a story like, you always think "will they like it?" "Did i do a good job?", Which from what I've seen they did incredible but...The fact the reader is called James or something like that, it just doesn't make you feel your part of the story, your just the one reading it, not taking part in anything happening in said story. I understand that people want to add their own character but they can still be there, one just needs to add y/n.

I hope i didn't offend any writers, that is not my intention at all, this is something i just wanted to get off my chest. I'm sure your all talented people.

Huh, I write a lot of fanfic, and I've never done this. When it's in 1st person, the main character occasionally speaks to the reader, but I never name them.
